Eating Al Fresco

If you’re planning to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather, you probably like the idea of eating al fresco. The easy option is to find a quaint little pavement cafe that has seating outside, but it shows that a lot more thought if you prepare the food yourself.

If you’re wooing a lovely lady such as one of our Watford escorts, you’ll want to make a good impression. You don’t have to be Jamie Oliver, but the mistake that many men make is by preparing a picnic full of the kinds of food you’d find at a six year old child’s party. Cocktail sausages and Pringles might be yummy, but they’re not the height of sophistication! With a little preparation, you can lay out a classy, delicious spread that will have your woman swooning at your feet.

First, think around the food. You will need plates, cutlery, napkins or paper towels and cups. Taking china and glass is risky as it could get broken, but there are some nice stylish choices of plastic plates and cups in the larger supermarkets. You’ll also need a large bag or basket to carry the picnic in, and a blanket to sit on. If you want to make it really special, chill some white wine or champagne in advance, and take it with you in a cool box or sleeve; special ones can be bought that are designed to hug your bottle. You could even take a flask of hot coffee to drink afterwards.

For the food, think along the lines of crusty bread, meat, cheese and fruit. Cured meats go very well, such as salami, chorizo and parma ham. Cold roast meats are also very nice, with chicken being particularly versatile. In the heat, you may want to avoid hard cheeses as they can sweat; opt for something like brie or Camembert, which will only improve if it melts slightly. You will need a proper knife for this, but if a sharp one can be avoided it’s much safer. For the fruit, choose things that you can pick at and won’t be too messy – think grapes, strawberries, tangerines. It’s nice to have a salad too, with crispy lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes.

Think what condiments you might need to complement the food; a portion of butter, salt and pepper, sauce or salad dressing. A good idea is to pick up a few extra next time you eat in a pub, which come in individual sachets. With all of this, your beautiful escort will be highly impressed!
