Beckham Presents World Cup Bid to FIFA
Englands 2018 World Cup bid has been presented to the FIFA President by our team’s former captain, David Beckham. He travelled to Zurich in order to hand over the bid on behalf of England’s 2018 World Cup team; the Football Association are hoping to use Beckham’s high profile as much as possible to promote the tournament in South Africa.
Travelling to Zurich along with 35 year old David Beckham was the bid chief executive Andy Anson, the bid and FA chairman Lord Triesman and Britain’s Vice President of FIFA Geoff Thompson. The gentlemen were also joined by 17 year old Nothemba Bambiso from South Africa; living in a children’s home, he coaches one of the township projects backed by the FA.
It has been revealed that Beckham will accept a role in the World Cup Coaching staff, under boss Fabio Capello. As the most capped outfield player on England’s outfield team, Beckham has become very influential both in and out of the sporting world. He is also a huge hit with our Fulham escorts – quite the heart throb according to the girls!
Beckham was very passionate when delivering his speech; it is clear that he still loves ‘the beautiful game’. Declaring that “football runs through our veins”, he said that he was there on behalf of the fans. The bid has been personally endorsed by the country’s new Prime Minister, David Cameron.
Beckham was the obvious choice to present the bid to FIFA President Sepp Blatter; he has become a national treasure after years of outstanding performance on the England football team. His name is known across the world and he has fronted many advertising campaigns, even bringing out his own clothing line with wife Victoria. Now as one of the most famous faces in the sporting world, he has told the media that he was “honoured” to be chosen to hand over the bid book – the final stage of our bid for the World Cup 2018. Fingers crossed our bid will be accepted!
