Chelsea is an area in South West London, the district is now part of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

The word Chelsea means “landing place for chalk and limestone”, referring to the River Thames, which bounds Chelsea to the South. Its Eastern boundary was once defined by the River Westbourne, which is now a pipe above Sloane Square Station. History has always shown Chelsea as being a popular location for the opulent, once being described as a “village of Palaces” in 1694 when it had a population of over 3000.

Chelsea once had a reputation as London’s bohemian quarter, the haunt of artists, radicals, painters and poets. Little of this seems to survive now – the comfortable squares off King’s Road are homes to the English military establishment, investment bankers and film stars, and more recently the pop singer Kylie Minogue.

Much of Chelsea is now viewed as a Global Ultra Prime Residential Area. The most covetable part of Chelsea is around Sloane Square and Knightsbridge. The property market attracts considerable international attention, with a very complex market consisting mainly of short leases under Earl Cadogan  as freeholder.

The Kings Road in Chelsea is a popular area for nightlife for the affluent, making it a prime location for London Escorts to frequent the elite bars and clubs. Kings Road remains the major artery through Chelsea and is a very busy road, despite its continuing reputation as a shopping mecca. It is home to many high-end fashion or jewellery like Cartier, Gucci and Graff – all very popular stores with elite Chelsea Escorts, with an acumen for elegance and class.

Chelsea, aside from its prime residential area and supreme nightlife, is also famous for hosting the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, officially The Great Spring Show held annually for five days in May. The Chelsea Flower Show is perhaps the most famous gardening event in the world and part of London’s Summer Social season.
