L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon

French chef Joel Robuchon is universally known as one of the most respected chefs working today. He currently runs ‘L’Atelier’ in Covent Garden (just a stones throw from The Ivy), which was awarded 2 much coveted Michelin stars in January 2009.

L’Atelier has two dining areas offering French and European cuisine; a traditional room upstairs and a red and black Japanese inspired style downstairs. On the ground floor, the kitchen is open so you and your escort can witness the drama and excitement of the dishes being prepared. You are seated on high stools with a wall of green foliage adorning one end of the room. The best way to experience Robuchon’s recipes is with the tapas taster dishes; you can choose from a set menu or a full menu. The restaurant’s popularity is evident by its buzzing atmosphere, the room always filled to capacity. L’Atelier has a walk-in policy, so if you are willing to wait in the lobby, this dining experience will undoubtedly be worth it.

Upstairs, ‘La Cuisine’ has a different feel. The traditional dining room is much more light and open, and has a more extensive menu available. On the third floor is Le Bar, an intimate space open for pre or post dinner drinks.
