Food for Love

Mother nature has provided many aphrodisiacs that are said to be able to boost your libido and increase your sex drive. For centuries, lovers have experiemented with different foods in an attempt to seduce another and entice them.

The word ‘aphrodisiac’ comes from the name of the Greek Goddess of love, ‘Aphrodite’. People have tried all sorts to emulate her effect, but some foods have stood the test of time and are still well known for their desire stirring properties. The most well known aphrodisiac perhaps is oysters. As with all shellfish, it stimulates the ‘hypothalamus’ in the brain; this is responsible for govering an appetite for both food and for sex. ‘Gigas’ are becoming more and more popular – they are also known as ‘rock oysters’ or ‘Pacific oysters’. Oily fish such as salmon, mackerel and sardines are also rich in vitamins A, B and D – importants elements of aphrodisiacs.

If you’re not keen on fish or shellfish, there are plenty of other foods that you can romance your girlfriend or a beautiful London escorts with. There are many vegetarian foods said to hold these properties; asparagus is particularly good and it is always considered a ‘classy’ vegetable! Adding this to a home cooked meal will instantly raise the tone of the meal and look like you have put a lot of thought and effort into it. Peas, artichokes, broad beans, lettuce and onions have also been credited with aphrodisiac properties.

Some claim that aphrodisiacs are merely a myth or a placebo, where as others swear by them. The act of eating food with another can be sexual in itself, especially if you do it in the more primitive form of eating with your fingers. Any food that gives you energy is likely to boost your stamina.

Some fruits are popular for this reason; bananas not only have a suggestive phallic shape, but they also have been credited by some studies to enhance male performance. Figs have also been celebrated since the times of ancient Greeks.

A romantic desert is chocolate; it releases endorphines from the brain which are known as ‘happy hormones’, and increases the desire to have physical contact. It goes very well with champagne; a popular choice to woo your partner. It is the most romantic drink you can consume, and alcohol (in moderation) lowers your inhibitions. Champagne is also said to create a warm glow in the body, making you look and feel more attractive to your partner.
