When to Suck it Up

Some women think that they’re always right. Even if she usually is, it isn’t easy for men to suck it up and admit that they’re wrong. At times it’s easier to agree to disagree if it looks like a solution cannot be reached, and sometimes she will agree with you just for an easy life. If you’re involved in an argument and neither of you will back down, it can turn nasty and end up tainting your otherwise good relationship; you need to know when to back down if it could mean putting your relationship at risk. We’ve heard our Buckingham escorts discussing this in depth!

More often than not, you already know deep down when you’re in the wrong but don’t want to admit it. There might be a bit of self doubt, or you might regret the way you’ve behaved – raising your voice or being vindictive to your partner. It takes a big man to admit that they were wrong and apologise, but this could really put you in your wife or girlfriend’s good books. Sometimes, it’s worth swallowing your pride and agreeing with her; the longer the argument went on for, the longer it might take for her to warm up to you.

You should by no means agree with your partner all the time. Women don’t want a man who is a pushover, or who doesn’t know what he wants. You need to be assertive, let her know what you want and come to compromises for each other. That’s how healthy relationships work; there should be an equal balance of power, neither one of you always succumbing to the other.

If your partner doesn’t usually cry but a dispute is visibly upsetting her, this is a good time to suck it up and back down. However, if she turns on the waterworks on a regular basis you should not let her use it to manipulate you into getting her own way. Only you know her well enough to judge this. If her behaviour is different from small quarrels you have, it could indicate that this is more serious and means a lot to her.

If you have that feeling of dread in the pit of your stomach and you’ve realised you were wrong, tell her you’re sorry and that you love her. Don’t come up with excuses or try to justify your behaviour – sometimes the most simple words are the most effective.
