Get Yourself Organised
Being disorganised is all too easy to do. It starts off with just one or two little errands slipping your mind, but before you know it you’re snowed under with work and you’ve managed to miss out on a great opportunity. Getting yourself organised can improve your life in many different ways; everything runs more smoothly leaving you stress free, and you’ll find that new opportunities open themselves up to you. Here are some tips on how to improve your organisational skills.
First, you need to convince yourself how much of a difference this will make to your life; there’s no point trying to change your habits if your heart’s not in it. Think of it the other way round if you find that easier, and how much negativity can stem from being disorganised; if there’s clutter in your life, chances are that there’s clutter in your head. You might find yourself becoming forgetful, irritable and stressed. That’s the easiest place to start – have a big clear out. It might be your desk, your bedroom or your whole house. Once everything is cleared out, you’ll find that you’re able to think much more clearly. Our Harrow on the Hill escorts find that a good wardrobe clear out is always good for the soul! Try not to hoard; if you don’t need it or use it, throw it away.
Only when you’ve thrown out the unwanted clutter should you start to organise what you have left. Do what ever works best for you; it might be filing papers in the correct trays, lining up your CDs by genre or your films alphabetically. Invest in a good storage unit to help you keep everything in order.
If you have a lot to do, make a list. Many of us do this when we go shopping, but it’s just as effective when you need to run daily errands or have a lot to do at work. Not only will this help you prioritise, but it also gives you a sense of achievement when you can tick one off! Breaking tasks down into manageable chunks in this way makes them much less daunting and more realistically achievable.
Use a diary or calendar to plan events. Even if it’s just a little pocket sized one, it will prevent you double booking and help you to forward plan. After a few weeks of that, you won’t know how you ever lived without one!
