George Michael Speaks Out

Ever since he shot to fame with ‘Wham’ in the 1980s, George Michael has been a controversial character. He has been openly homosexual since 1998, breaking the hearts of female fans all over the world such as our more mature Holloway escorts. Though looking back at his flamboyancy over the years, it seems quite obvious! He has been in a long term open relationship with Kenny Goss since 1996.

In 1998, George Michael was arrested for a “lewd act” where he famously solicited an undercover policeman in a public toilet. This made international news, and forced Michael to come clean about his sexuality. More recently in 2006, he was caught having anonymous sex in public on Hampstead Heath.

Michael has also caused controversy with his drug use. He has been arrested or cautioned several times since 2006 for possession of Class A and Class C drugs, and has twice been found slumped over the wheel of his car in a semi conscious state. This lead to a two year driving ban.

This week, George Michael has spoken out about people trying to interfere in his life, such as Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish. According to them, many of Michael’s friends are seriously concerned about his “mental state” and his health, and are urging them to step in and do something about it. However, Michael claims that they do not know about his life, and said:

“Elton will not be happy until I bang on his door in the middle of the night saying, ‘Please, please help me, Elton. Take me to rehab’. It’s not going to happen.” He also added “Elton John needs to shut up and get on with his life.”

There has been some strain on the pair’s relationship since 2004 when Elton first spoke out about his worries for George’s health. George retaliated with a public letter in Heat magazine.

Since these latest quotes, David Furnish has defended himself and his husband in a radio interview, saying that they only intervened when urged by Michael’s close friends. Elton has battled addictions in the past but has now been sober for 19 years, so he would be a good person to give advice to George.

With candid confessions about his drug use, George Michael confessed that in the past he has smoked crack cocaine, and he still smokes marijuana. He has managed to cut down to around 7 or 8 joints a day, compared to the staggering 25 per day that he used to get through.
