‘Nice Guy’ Tom Wins The Apprentice!

More than 10 million viewers eagerly tuned in last night, to hear Lord Sugar say the rarely spoken words: ‘You’re hired!’

After twelve tough weeks of tasks, wacky inventor, Tom Pellereau, finally soured to victory.

Pellereau is Lord Sugar’s newest business partner and proud recipient of a £250,000 money injection to help start up a brand new business.

In the most daunting task yet, the final episode saw Tom and three other finalists, competing in a gruelling interview process to steal the top position. Tom successfully managed to fight off stiff competition from the rival finalists Jim Eastwood, Helen Milligan and Susan Ma.

With a disappointing record of eight tasks lost, the odds appeared stacked against Tom. But despite this, Tom’s creative abilities managed to win Lord Sugar over. Tom now holds the record for being the only ever apprentice candidate to have had such a poor performance during the task process.

Lord Sugar seemed completely undeterred in his decision, describing how he is: ‘A product man at heart.’ Sugar later said that he felt his decision was based on a: ‘Gut feeling,’ as he believes that he can harness and direct Tom’s ideas, creating an interesting and viable new company.

It seems Tom was born with a creative streak, as he began inventing at the age of four with his Grandad in his shed in Hampshire. However, It has not been all plain sailing for Tom, who has always suffered from dyslexia, but claims that despite this, he has never given up.

Securing his victory, Tom described to Sir Alan, how he managed to cleverly sell his rounded nail file to leading retailers, Walmart and Boots. His international product success provided him with a major advantage in the competition.

Tom hopes that his success will inspire young inventors to never to give up on their dreams. Gaining the reputation amongst his fellow contestants as ‘the nice guy’, Tom stated: ‘I’m pretty happy about that really. I think this result shows that nice guys come first.’
