New Information on Madeleine McCann Case

Since Madeleine McCann went missing from the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on May 3rd 2007, the nation has been gripped by the so far unsuccessful search that went underway for her. The portuguese authorities are no longer investigating the case, however Madeleine’s parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, refuse to give up and continue to work with the UK police force to uncover the mystery of their missing daughter.

Madeleine was taken from the family’s Algarve apartment while her parents had dinner with friends nearby, and no trace has been seen of her since.

Yesterday, police released a picture of a woman that they would like to speak to in connection with the case. The woman was seen in a Barcelona bar a few days after Madeleine went missing, and two British men spoke to her there. She reportedly asked one of the men if he was here to deliver her new daughter, before realising that she had the wrong man. She was described as a Victoria Beckham lookalike with an Australian or New Zealand accent, and supposedly spoke Spanish too.

Today, a woman from Sydney has come forward claiming to know this woman. The information she has provided will be passed on to international authorities, who are hoping to shed some light on this ongoing case.

Due to the fact that no body has ever been found, many still hold out hope that Madeleine is alive and well. The case received so much news coverage that McCann is now a household name. Sightings have been spotted, and Madeleine’s distinguishing feature is a brown mark in her green eyes. After the disappearance, everyone from mothers to London escorts to businessmen have been keeping their eyes out for her. Here’s hoping that the latest information will bring some results.
