Look on the Bright Side

Almost every man in the UK knows the catchy little ditty from Monty Python’s Life of Brian, which tells us to “always look on the bright side of life”. However, it is sometimes easier said than done when the whole world seems to be against you!

There are people who are naturally optimistic, seeing the best in everyone and finding the silver lining in every cloud. For these people, the world is a sunny, happy place and life is worth living. But to those who are naturally more pessimistic, this can seem quite annoying! It’s far too easy to let things get you down and to lose all sense of perspective; your own problems will always feel bigger than anyone else’s, purely because they’re yours.

It can really pay off to consciously make an effort to be more positive, even if it’s the last thing you feel like doing. If you’re down in the dumps, ultimately you’re the only person who can help yourself. The first step in picking yourself up is to make the decision that this is what you want to do; it’s no good wallowing in your own self pity if you want to move forward with your life. However hard it is, tell yourself that you can handle this and that things will get better!

Try to put your problem into perspective by looking around you at what’s going on in the world. Just reading a newspaper will open your eyes; these things are happening to real people. Floods and earthquakes ravaging communities, rape, violence and murder. Yes, this is a bit depressing, but how bad is your problem compared to that? It might just make you realise that this break up or debt or argument is quite a small issue in the grand scale of things.

Next, do something that you’re good at and that you enjoy. Even if it’s something as simple as going bowling, it will help to restore your self confidence and give you back some of that ‘can do’ attitude. Exercising will help too; it gives you more energy, and releases endorphins to make you feel happy and good about yourself. If possible, go outside and get some sunshine – the vitamin D will do wonders in perking you up!

Finally, surround yourself with good things. Friends and family will support you and make you remember how good life can be. If you feel lonely, you could always hire a beautiful London escort to come and spend some time with you. She will certainly boost your self confidence and leave you feeling exhilarated, excited about life!
